Angrezi Medium Public Reviews :

Angrezi Medium hits the screen on 13 March 2020 collects the love of the fans. As Irfaan Khan is back on theaters after the break of 2 years everyone is excited to watch him. This film ‘Angrezi Medium’ is all about the efforts of a father to make her daughter happy by doing all the possible things he can do for the better future of his daughter. I liked the movie so much now coming to the reviews of the people about the movie.

Critics Reviews :

Angrezi Medium Review: Born and raised in Udaipur (Rajasthan), Champak’s world pretty much revolves around his daily bickering with his other Ghasitaram brother, Gopi (Deepak Dobriyal), and caring for his only daughter, Tarika, who’s all set to graduate high school and embark on another academic journey. But, unlike her father, she doesn’t want to limit her dreams to the place she has grown up in; instead, she wants to explore what lies outside of her small world. Unaware of what’s ahead, Champak gives in to his daughter’s wishes, but things start to spiral out of control when it comes down to paying the hefty fee. A dedicated father, Champak vows to do whatever it takes to send his daughter to study abroad, and treads on a path that not only proves his unconditional love for his ‘betiya’, but also redefines their relationship.

Homi Adajania’s ‘Angrezi Medium’ touches upon the pulse of the young generation’s obsession with pursuing further studies in foreign countries, and their family’s determination to embrace every Himalayan hurdle for their loved ones. There are other underlying themes, too, but this remains the primary subject of the film.

Reviews by Hungama :

ANGREZI MEDIUM is the story of unconditional love between a father and daughter. Champak (Irrfan Khan) is a single parent of Tarika (Radhika Madan) and is based in Udaipur. His brother is Gopi (Deepak Dobriyal) and though both have lot of love for each other, they are also involved in a legal tussle. Both run a shop named Ghasiteram Sweets and both claim to be the original shop running since generations. The matter reaches court where Justice Chheda (Zakir Hussain) gives a verdict in favour of Gopi. In a drunken state, Gopi later reveals that he bribed the judge which is why he won the case. Gajju (Kiku Sharda), a friend of the brothers, records this statement. Tarika, meanwhile, is an average student and wishes to win the scholarship offered by her school that will take her to London. She works quite hard and manages to get 85% and it makes her eligible for UK scholarship. A felicitation ceremony is held for this occasion. The chief guest here is none other than Justice Chheda. Champak, in anger, informs the crowd of the nefarious activities of Chheda, not realising that Chheda is the husband of the Principal of the school (Meghna Malik). The Principal, in anger, cancels Tarika’s scholarship. Champak promises Tarika that come what may, he’ll get her admission done, that too in the college of her choice in London. Sadly, Tarika fails to get the admission from other quotas. Gopi suggests Champak that they contact Bablu (Ranvir Shorey), their childhood friend who is settled in London. Bablu comes to Udaipur on a plane ticket sponsored by Champak. He tells Champak that he can help him get British citizenship after which Tarika can get admission easily. Champak, Gopi and Tarika reach London airport. Here, Champak and Gopi are mistaken for drug dealers. They are deported back to India while Tarika is stranded in London. What happens next forms the rest of the film.

Bhavesh Mandalia, Gaurav Shukla, Vinay Chhawall and Sara Bodinar’s story sounds interesting on paper. Their screenplay, however, doesn’t live up to the expectations. While the writers get the father-daughter bond right, the other tracks aren’t convincing and arguably, not even necessary. Bhavesh Mandalia, Gaurav Shukla, Vinay Chhawall and Sara Bodinar’s dialogues are decent and a few one-liners are witty.

Homi Adajania’s direction is decent. He gets brownie points for the scenes involving Champak and Gopi as these scenes and their performances elevate the impact. Also the scenes of Champak and Tarika at some places will be loved. The Indian audiences, especially the middle aged and senior citizens, would connect with the message of children often leaving them after turning adults. On the flipside, the film has too many subplots that are difficult to digest. Audiences will find it strange that Champak and Gopi are business rivals and even fighting it out in the court. But at the same time, they even drink and hang out together like best of buddies. Not just that, Gopi doesn’t even mind when Champak leaks his video where the latter brags that he bribed the judge! The manner in which Champak and Gopi get deported over a misunderstanding seems stupid. Tarika, meanwhile, gets settled in London and finds a job and house, even before her admission is done. She doesn’t ask Champak even once how they’ll manage to procure funds. Also the track of Naina and her mother Mrs. Kohli (Dimple Kapadia) seem totally unwanted. Audiences never come to know why they are at loggerheads.

ANGREZI MEDIUM starts on an average note, depicting the life of Champak and Tarika, and also the feud between Champak and Gopi. The latter part seems bewildering though as their love-hate relationship. A few scenes here stand out like a drunken Tarika accusing Champak of being intoxicated, the madness at the court and at the school ceremony. The father-daughter bond touches viewers. The intermission point is unconvincing. Post-interval, the film drops at places thanks to too many confusing developments and too many subplots. Thankfully, a few genuinely novel moments stand out here like Tarika turning her T-shirt into a crop top to fit in among her new London friends, Gopi tying Champak to his bed and Champak and Gopi rescuing Mrs. Kohli and later singing Happy Birthday song for her. Also the finale might leave viewers teary eyed.

Public Reviews :

“Angrezi Medium comes a lot earlier than Father’s Day. Nevertheless, it reminds us of all the sacrifices our dads make for us and expect so little in return. It’s a roller coaster ride with hilarious ups and emotional downs. Irrfan Khan returns as the selfless (yet comically manipulative and overprotective) dad and it’s a delight to see him again on the silver screen post his diagnosis. Despite looking severely out of shape, physically, he carries out the entire film on his shoulders with just his expressions and acting skills. Radhika Madan is a joyful surprise as the daughter with dreams of her own. The supporting cast comprising Deepak Dobriyal, Ranvir Shorey, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Dimple Kapadia and Kiku Sharda make ample impact. Although it appears stretched, especially on the first half, each and every scene building up to the plot appears justified on the second half. Despite all the efforts, somehow it stays as a good movie with an emotional touch, and couldn’t rise to be an incredible movie.

Cute is the word that aptly describes this Bollywood outing. Trust me you will leave the theatre moist and smiling”. by Kaustav Das Gupta.

Palak’s role in this season seems much more comprehensive and sensitive. She focuses on the responsibility of her daughters and the Noon family, also Ritwik’s health condition. On the other hand, the business deals of noons were recovering back. With Vikrant’s help, the dynamic lady, Reeva puts her efforts to take the business ahead. Vikrant’s move into the life of Noons is a kind of blessing to the family and his marriage with Palak to favor the family. With this move, Palak’s daughter will have a father to rely upon his shoulder. So there establishes a father and daughter relationship in the Noons family.

The background score of this season seems to match the emotional scenes. The review might not portray the clear evidence of scenes added in the Dil Hi Toh Hai Season 3. So watch the show and experience the emotional scenes & romantic clicks pictured in this season.

By

As the Unlock mission has begun, the shooting of several serials has started. But replacements are taking place as several actors are not feeling safe to come out of their houses during the pandemic.
Avneet Kaur, who plays Yasmine in Alladin Naam Toh Suna Hi Hoga, has quit the show for the same reason. However, Ashi Singh, Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai heroine, is going to replace her in the show.
When asked about this, Ashi said that she loves to play different roles with different characteristics. When Aladdin was offered to her, she did not have any second thoughts. She grabbed the opportunity at its first chance, as the role of Yasmine is very different from that of her previous role as Naina in Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai. And she was prompted to take up the fantasy role, as it would require action and challenge.
It is not easy to replace any character, let alone a heroine, as the audience will have an emotional attachment. Besides, it is very difficult to overcome the benchmark set by the original actress. However, since the show is returning after a 3-month break, the audience may accept a new face while reconnecting.
Avneet has expressed her unhappiness about quitting the show. She said she does not want to discontinue the show but has no other way as she is worried about her health. Last year, she has suffered from Dengue fever, which has pulled her immunity down. Also, from the pressure of her board exams, she has been exhausted. Despite these, she had resumed her role, .but now, her parents are worried about her resuming the shoots, and thus she has decided to quit. ‘Health comes first,’ she says.
