Many of the competitive exams and pending board exams were scheduled to conduct in July, but the corona cases are increasing rapidly. And CBSE, JEE, NEET exams also scheduled in July. SO, few states, Maharashtra, Delhi Odisha, and some other states, also requested the HRD ministry to cancel the board exams.
HRD Mistry Take The Decision Tomorrow
Ministery of human resource development is likely to announce a decision about the CBSE exam and JEE Main 2020 and NEET UG 2020 today or tomorrow. The ministry is set all the things to tell the decision on whether the board conducts the CBSE Exam, JEE Main 2020, and NEET UG 2020, or they postpone or cancel the examinations because of the rise in coronavirus cases in the country.
Ministry of HRD considers all the students and states and the parent’s petitions, about the CBSE exams. All the parents of the students are requested to stop the exams, and people requested the boards to provide the result based on internal assessment.
CBSE Exams Scheduled From Jul 1 To July 15
According to the media reports, the ministry is going to announce the decision about the BSE, JEE and NEET exam 2020, as per the notification which was released earlier, CBSE Exam was scheduled to conducted from July 1 to July 15. This year, we expect that exams were canceled due to the higher cases of COVID-19.
CBSE and Entrance exams are supposed to be conducted in July, and Covid-19 cases are rapidly rising in India. So, a group of parents appeals to the supreme court and the ministry to cancel the exam. The HRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal will update all of these exams in light of the problems because of conducting the exams.
A Review Meeting With The Officials To Take Decision About CBSE, JEE And NEET Exam 2020
So, the minister of HRD conducts a review meeting with the secretary of the Higher Education and Secretary School Education and Literacy Department and NTA to decide on conducting the exam and reopening the schools by keeping in mind about the student’s health and their future.
PMK Founder Ramdas Calls for Cancellation of NEET; take 12th Board marks into Account
The founder of the Party PMK has issued a statement regarding the conducting of NEET exams. The Central Government has canceled Class 10 and 12 Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Board exams due to the prevailing pandemic situation. They were to start on July 1. Similarly, he has requested to cancel the NEET Exam in his statement in favor of the safety of students.
A few CBSE Board exams are not yet completed in many States except a few. They were originally scheduled to be conducted from the 12th to 31st of March. When the quarantine started, exams from the 19th to the 31st were canceled. They were postponed to the first half of July.
However, in states those have high number of CBSE schools, the Number of coronavirus cases is also high, leading to the fear of conucting exams. Taking into consideration, the demand of the parents and staff, CBSE has taken the decision of cancelling the class 10 and 12 exams.
When this is the situation, Dr. Ramdas asks how it will be possible to conduct the NEET Exam given the same pandemic circumstances. Hence the Under Graduate NEET exam that is supposed to take place on July 26 should be cancelled. Within this short span, students will not have the time to prepare themselves for the exam with the constant fear and stress in mind, says Dr. Ramdas.
However, cancellation of exams like NEET and IIT JEE is not possible as it will be against Education Acts. So, the only option left is to keep postponing the dates until the world gets rid of the pandemic and is back to normal. Then the students can undergo the test and be counseled accordingly.
It is estimated that the infection will hit its peak in October and November. After that, it will deduce slowly, which will take months. By then, the next academic year would start meaning NEET and IIT JEE will have to wait for a year, which is not possible.
Besides, NEET and IIT JEE cannot be compared given that IIT JEE will have candidates appearing from all over the country from both State board and Central board. Hence, its valuation will be complicated, but that is not the case with NEET since it will happen at the state level. Besides, the last 4 years of the NEET exam have no proof of selecting qualified students only. Also, the business of medical colleges has not stopped. Students despite having qualification were not admitted in medical colleges due to lack of money, has not yet come to an end too.
Quoting all these reasons, Dr. Ramdas suggests that the medical students be selected based on the Board exam marks. This would not cause a deterioration in the quality of the candidates being selected for studying medicine in any way, he says.
Hence, Dr. Ramdas stands by his statement of canceling the NEET exam in Tamilnadu.

UHRD Minister Recommends UGC to Revise the Exam Guidelines
The Union Human Resource Development Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, has suggested the University Grants Commission change the guidelines on exams on Wednesday. Given this pandemic situation, he says one has to keep in mind the health and safety of students and staff.
Earlier it was announced that the intermediate and final semesters would occur in July followed by reopening of colleges and universities in August. And as for freshers, they will start in September. But the COVID-19 virus battle is only growing intense, and the situation is thickening, calling for a revision in this pattern and guidelines for conducting exams.
HRD Minister, took to Twitter on Wednesday to officially announced this:
I have advised the @ugc_india to revisit the guidelines issued earlier for intermediate and Terminal Semester examinations and academic calendar. The foundation for revisited guidelines shall be health and safety students, teachers and staff.@PIB_India @MIB_India @DDNewslive
— Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank (@DrRPNishank) June 24, 2020
the UGC has said that the students of the intermediate semesters will be evaluated based on the online internal tests and previous semesters. But the final years have to take up their exams in July. And those states that are going back to normal will conduct their exams in July too.
They are finally set to revisit the guidelines after several institutions with thousands of students requested for a change in the patter, due to their inability to conduct exams. It is only worse with institutions that have changed their classrooms into coronavirus wards. Besides the concern of parents for the safety of their children, the authorities themselves are found in a complicated situation.
AICTE chairman Anil Sahasrabuddhe has confirmed that the UGC is revising the guidelines, and said that the UGC has also roped in AICTE, Bar Council of India, Architecture Council, Pharmacy Council and others too.
However, grading students without conducting proper examinations and merely graduating them will be violating the laws of education.
