A man in his fifties, the first one, has died in Washington, USA, from the novel coronavirus outbreak, 2019. Now there is a total of 69 confirmed cases in the USA. The next hotspot would be an old age home according to the officials, as announced on Saturday. Also, another American has been reported dead in China.

The virus is said to have its roots from a large livestock mart in Wuhan, China. It has killed thousands of people there and has also spread to other countries.

But the US outbreak seems to be different as it was “locally contracted”, that is, not from other countries. It is being referred to as “Community spread”. California has recorded such a case where a patient was infected by another woman who was found positive the previous day. Totally creepy!

Dr. Jeff Duchin, health officer for Seattle and King County has reported that the first man in his 50s who had died was considered at high risk. Dr. Robert Redfield, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says that this person has not traveled to China recently or been in contact with China in any form. “It is another case of “community spread”,” he says.

“It’s a tough one, but a lot of progress has been made,” President Trump said at a press conference on Saturday.   “We’re doing really well, under incredibly adverse circumstances… We’re prepared.” He stresses that the risk to the general population remained low.

Vice President Mike Pence has been announced as the czar of the coronavirus task force, though he calls President Trump’s actions against the outbreak ‘unprecedented’. However, he has restricted travels to Iran and some parts in Italy and South Korea. Pence has announced that the  US government had contracted the Company 3M to make an extra 30 million face masks, in addition to the 40 million masks already available. However, he also says, “Let me be very clear, the average American does not need to go out and buy a mask.”

The death was seen amid many cases, overnight. There have been 3 cases on the same day, including a health caretaker, also announcing a possible outbreak in the nursing home. According to the reports received by Duchin, one of the patients is a woman in her seventies, a resident of the nursing home in serious condition; another patient in the State is said to be a healthcare worker in her forties who has no details of any travel history outside the U.S. Duchin and a number of people in both sides had suffered some of the symptoms. They are to be tested.

“This is only a ‘community spread’ not a ‘national spread’ of COVID-19,” says Dr. Nancy Messonnier, director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases at the CDC.

Also, a teen student fell sick on Monday. He showed symptoms such as fever, body aches, and a headache, and was treated at two health care units in Snohomish County. Since he felt better by Friday morning he returned to Jackson High School. But it was found soon that he tested positive, the authorities said. The students who had been in contact with him have been notified to remain at home for the next 2 weeks with constant monitoring by the Snohomish Health District.

Trials to discover a vaccine or a drug is undertaken fervently by scientists all over the globe.

Stress helps one give away and receive emotional support.

Believe it or not, human minds have a weird way of action. We never know what it’s planning and how it responds. There’s a possibility that we may never know it in its full functionality. Rightly so, who doesn’t love peace and ambience? And the very thought of stress, indeed stresses us out. But there’s always light at the end of the tunnel and the thereby research has it that stress can be the new social motivation that you need.

Under all the negative aspects of stress lies a special benefit that could take you by awe. The research that was recently published in the journal Stress & Health stressed on the fact that experiencing stress in workplaces or everyday lives made people both more susceptible to both asking for as well as lending out social support. This sparks an unbreakable bond of gratitude and support among various individuals which helps people strive out of the toxic environment. Also, the extended support helped people to finally come out of the feeling of extreme stress and strain.

Stressors that promote the feeling of desperation and helplessness can be varied. From arguments with someone we love and care or at workplaces to stressful events at work or school to major disapprovals at home, there are many factors. But whatever be the cause of the stress, the aftermath is almost similar. The researchers agree on the fact that on average, participants of the research were more than twice as likely to either give away or receive some sort of emotional support during times that they experienced a stressor. This has been invariably linked to most of human behaviour.

In the study, it was asserted that women, in general, were more inclined towards engaging in more giving and receiving emotional support than their counterparts. Men were supposedly less supportive in terms of their counterparts. Though affirmative, the researchers were surprised that stress was linked to people not just wanting to get emotional support, but giving it as well. Hence though stress is often not the most positive feeling yet it still has the power to drive people towards attaining somewhat emotional closures and support and at the end, this is what that matters.
